Argentina Holidays
From the glaciers of Patagonia to the thundering falls of Iguazu, the red-rock canyons and salt flats of Salta and the vineyards of Mendoza, Argentina is one of the most varied countries on Earth. As a specialist UK tour operator, we design tailor-made Argentina holidays and adventure tours from £3,514 per person, with private guides, hand-picked estancias and boutique lodges, and flights within Argentina included. Hike beneath Fitz Roy, ride with gauchos, kayak beside the Perito Moreno Glacier or explore the remote Puna, then finish with tango, steak and Malbec in Buenos Aires. See also our Patagonia holidays.

Top Argentina Experiences

Marvelling at Iguazu Falls
In our opinion the greatest waterfalls on Earth, Iguazu’s network of around 275 cascades deserves at least two full days, one on each side of the border. Surrounded by subtropical rainforest full of birds, butterflies and coatis, it’s one of nature’s most impressive sights, and we include it in most of our Argentina holidays. Not sure which side to see? Read our guide: which side of Iguazu Falls is better?

Exploring The Puna Off-Road
The last trip we took before Covid hit was to explore the mind-blowing landscapes beyond Salta: glistening salt flats, red-rock canyons, towering white sand dunes, multicoloured lagoons and strange fields of pumice stone. This is a harsh, high-altitude land, but the rewards are spectacular. Explore it slowly on our Slow Travel: Northern Argentina In-Depth.

Face to Face with Perito Moreno
One of the most accessible glaciers on Earth, Perito Moreno’s 5 km-wide face rises up to 70 metres above Lago Argentino. Its ice flows forward by up to 2 metres a day, so building-sized chunks regularly crash into the water in front of you, especially thrilling if you visit by kayak.

Vino and Relaxation in Mendoza
No trip to Argentina is complete without tasting the Malbecs and Cabernets of Mendoza, where you can visit several vineyards a day with the Andes as your backdrop. It’s also home to some of the country’s loveliest boutique spa hotels and restaurants, the perfect place to relax after your adventures. Stay at the best of them on our Luxury Journey through Argentina.

Deep Patagonian Wilderness
Patagonia’s beauty draws crowds, but its vast size means a few days of undisturbed wilderness are easy to arrange. Some of our favourite lodges are remote estancias, reached by boat or long gravel roads, where you can hike, ride and watch wildlife with hardly another soul around. Find them on our Argentina Wildlife and Wilderness Escape.

Tango & Steak in Buenos Aires
Whilst we mainly focus on natural wonders, there’s no disputing that Buenos Aires is one of the most vibrant and charismatic cities on the planet. Nothing captures it better than an evening of sultry tango, succulent steak and smooth Malbec: the perfect way to begin or end your adventure. Ask us to include a tango show on our Argentina Active Adventure.

Argentina Holiday Packages: Frequently Asked Questions
Please reach us at info@traveldifferently.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.
What Are The Best Months To Visit Argentina?
It depends where you’re going. Patagonia is best from November to March, with the warmest weather and long days. Iguazu Falls can be visited all year, and is fullest from December to March. The north, including Salta and the Puna, is best from April to November, when it’s dry and sunny. Spring (September to November) is a lovely time for Buenos Aires, Mendoza and wildlife, with pleasant temperatures. Tell us when you’d like to travel and we’ll suggest the best route.
How Many Days Do You Need To Tour Argentina?
Set aside at least two weeks to explore Argentina’s diverse landscapes, enough for Buenos Aires, Iguazu Falls and Patagonia. With three weeks or more, add the north-west around Salta, the wine country of Mendoza or the Iberá Wetlands. We always recommend travelling for longer and slower to make the most of it. Read our guide: how long do you need in South America?
How much does a holiday to Argentina cost?
Our tailor-made Argentina holidays start from £3,514 per person for 14 days on our Classic Highlights of Argentina Holiday, to around £11,800 for 15 days on our Luxury Journey through Argentina. Combining Argentina with an Antarctica cruise starts from around £16,100. Read our guide to how much a South America holiday costs.
Do You Need a Visa To Visit Argentina?
British travellers visiting Argentina as tourists for up to 90 days don’t need a visa, unless travelling on an emergency travel document. You’ll need a passport with at least one blank page, and may be asked for proof of onward travel. For the latest requirements, see the UK government’s travel advice for Argentina.
Is Argentina Good For a Holiday?
Argentina is an exceptional holiday destination, with an extraordinary range of natural sights in one country. Explore the wildlife-rich Iberá Wetlands, discover the quieter Lake District around Bariloche, or kayak beside the Perito Moreno Glacier. If you’d like luxury, there are world-class lodges, fine dining and exclusive experiences, from waking up beside Iguazu Falls to a private river cruise in Buenos Aires. For couples, our Argentina honeymoon combines Patagonia’s glaciers and mountain trails with the lakes of the north.
