Patagonia Honeymoon Itinerary: Day by Day
Day 1-2: Buenos Aires
Your Patagonia honeymoon begins in Buenos Aires, a destination in itself. Rest up after your flight at NUSS Hotel and spend a few days in vibrant Buenos Aires winding down after the wedding planning.
The city is easy to explore on foot: amble around colourful La Boca, the Plaza de Mayo, leafy Palermo and stylish Recoleta. If you’d like a private guide, just ask our experts. Start married life in style with a steak dinner and a bottle of Malbec at one of the city’s wonderful restaurants, and maybe catch a tango show.
Day 3-6: El Chalten
Time to really start your honeymoon adventure. Fly south to El Calafate, then take the scenic road north to El Chaltén, around three hours away by private transfer. Once here, you’re straight into hiking paradise, staying at Los Cerros, with wonderful views.
Trails start right from the village, with routes for every ability. Two of our favourites are the hikes to Laguna Torre and Laguna de los Tres, with epic views of glacier-carved valleys, thick forests and the jagged peaks of Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre.
Day 7-9: El Calafate
Next stop is El Calafate, home to the mighty Perito Moreno Glacier. Stay at Hotel Los Ponchos and choose from a wealth of activities; our experts will help you make the most of your time. Watch huge chunks of ice calve into the water as you sail past the glacier face along the Brazo Rico arm of Lago Argentino, or strap on crampons for an ice-trek.
Learn about Patagonia’s past on a half-day visit to a working estancia, finding out about the Tehuelche people who lived here long before the early explorers arrived.
Day 10-12: Torres del Paine
One of the highlights of your Patagonia honeymoon is Torres del Paine National Park. Cross into Chile and stay at Hotel Lago Grey, one of the best-located hotels in the park, on the shores of Grey Lake, surrounded by mountains and wildlife.
Choose from a wide range of daily activities booked directly with the hotel, giving you complete freedom: go horse riding, take a boat to Grey Glacier, or pick from quieter trails such as the Pingo Valley as well as classic routes like the Base of the Towers.

Day 13-14: Puerto Natales
Transfer to the quirky port town of Puerto Natales and Weskar Lodge, a fantastic base for boat trips through secluded fjords to glaciers you can only reach by water.
Take a full-day trip to the Balmaceda and Serrano Glaciers, and bring a good camera to capture their size and beauty. This is one of our favourite Travel Differently experiences: because the glaciers are only reachable by boat, you’re far from the crowds of the better-known glaciers. A peaceful, romantic way to end the Patagonia part of your honeymoon.
Day 15-16: Chilean Vineyard
One final honeymoon treat before flying home. Fly north to Santiago, meet your guide and transfer around an hour to Chile’s wine country, staying at one of our favourite boutique hotels at Matetic Vineyard. Spend your time by the pool, cycling through the vines and sampling delicious Chilean wines.

When to Go
Best time for a Patagonia honeymoon
The best months for a Patagonia honeymoon are November to March, with long days, the mildest weather and every trail and boat trip running. December to February is peak season, so book early for the best lodges. For quieter trails, November and March are ideal, and the Chilean wine country is warm and sunny for your vineyard finale throughout. Tell us your wedding date, and we’ll plan around it.
