Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Lima

Arrive into Lima, a foodie paradise. You have a day here to rest up, explore by foot, or test out the hype around the gastronomic capital of the world. Enjoy a night in one of our favourite city hotels, to wake refreshed and ready to go on your adventure round Peru.

Day 2 – 4: Amazon

A short flight and transfer takes you into the Amazon Basin. Arriving into the Capital of Biodiversity begin your jungle adventure with a thrilling boat ride across the Madre de Dios River to reach your wildlife lodge. Walk the nature trails to explore ecosystems and at dusk experience the transformation of the rainforest on an exhilarating Twilight boat ride. Your days here are all about the wildlife surrounding you. Canoe trips, hikes, canopy walkways and hidden forest excursions…you will be fully engrossed in nature and scenery with your guide who will help you spot incredible and rare wildlife. Hear Parakeets chatter away and monkeys swing through the treetops while you enjoy breakfast. Be sure to include the Inland Collpa excursion; looking out for different species of animals while doing their clay-lick behaviour in search for salt.

Day 5 – 7: Sacred Valley

One of our highlights of a holiday to Peru is time spent in the Sacred Valley. There is so much variety to see and enjoy here; scenery, people, culture and wildlife. A truly memorable experience is our flagship community immersion activity – a day with the Misminay Community. Try your hand at brick making, cookery, Quecha lessons, textile weaving and hike to lookout points all the while hearing the local peoples stories and history. An important cultural experience that helps towards sustaining the community. On your other days spent exploring the Sacred Valley you can go mountain biking between the fascinating sites of Maras and Moray, take a full day trek to Huchuy Qusqo archaeological complex, witness a reforestation project, go kayaking along the beautiful Piuray Lagoon to discover rare birds and stunning natural surroundings. Be amongst nature and scenery as you really take time to soak up this amazing valley.

Day 8: Machu Picchu

Take a beautiful riverside train journey to the town of Machu Picchu Pueblo early this morning, and embark on a private tour of one the Seven Wonders of the Modern World. Explore the famous Inca citadel with its incredible ruins, terraces and photogenic alpacas, while marvelling at the stunning backdrop of Huayna Picchu Mountain.
After soaking up the sanctuary’s magical energy (and with plenty of photographs) head back down for lunch in a local restaurant and transfer to Cusco.

Day 9-10: Cusco

Charming Cusco was the capital of the Inca Empire, and today is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and vibrant town. Take in all the key historic spots, from the grand colonial Plazas de Armas to the Inca Koricancha Temple, up to the imposing fortress of Sacsayhuaman and Q’enqo ceremonial site. Spend time exploring the iconic San Pedro Market for a taste (literally) of modern Cusco.

Day 11-12: Lake Titicaca

Transfer through the Andes to Puno. En route be amazed by interesting cultural and historical sights, including the gorgeous San Pedro de Andahuaylillas Church, and dramatic Raqchi archaeological site and it’s 100 meter long Wiracocha Temple.
Arrive at Lake Titicaca to experience firsthand the incredible colours of the lake and life that exists on it.

Take a boat journey with your private guide to explore two fascinating communities living on Lake Titicaca. The famous floating reed islands of the Uros people is a must for anyone visiting this part of Peru, and you will have a chance to meet the inhabitants and set foot into their unique floating homes. We will also spend time on Taquille Island, where colourful traditions, customs and costumes continue to be maintained by the proud community. Taquille is also a startling beautiful island, where green agricultural terraces spill down the hillside to the deep blue waters of Titicaca.

Day 13 – 14: Lima

The final stop on your classic holiday through Peru is Lima, an incredible place to end your trip.  Visit the modern and colonial parts of the city of Lima the “City of Kings”, starting in the districts of Miraflores and San Isidro, including an overview of the impressive Huaca Huallamarca, as well as the Historic Centre, for a visit to the Santo Domingo Convent -a World Heritage Site.

Or if you prefer to explore the cultural side of the capital, we can arrange a street art walking tour, cooking class, cycling tour or street food experience, to complete your journey through this mesmerising country.
