Our Peru, Ecuador & Galapagos Adventure is a private, 22-day tailor-made tour combining Machu Picchu, the Peruvian Amazon and the Sacred Valley with Quito, the Mindo cloud forest and the Ecuadorian Andes, finishing in the Galapagos Islands. Peru, Ecuador & Galapagos Itinerary: Day by Day
Day 1-2: Lima
Start your Peru, Ecuador and Galapagos adventure holiday in Lima, Peru’s buzzing capital. Here, choose between a classic historical city tour, a bike excursion, or ‘Travel Differently’ with a unique cultural tour of street art and local gastronomic gems.
Try some delicious local food, and ask your guide if you’d like a restaurant recommendation.
Day 3-5: Peruvian Amazon
After a short flight, it’s an exciting transfer by boat to your comfortable jungle lodge. With your expert wildlife guide, go wildlife spotting and enjoy your jungle adventure by foot and canoe.
Expect to see monkeys, caiman, turtles, parrots, and hundreds of other species as you delve deeper into the rich Amazon Rainforest.
Day 6-8: Sacred Valley
Leaving the Amazon behind, head into the cultural heart of both ancient Inca and modern rural Peru, with an extended stay in the Sacred Valley. Spend a day with the welcoming Misminay community, taking part in their traditional cooking, weaving, and agricultural pastimes.
Visit the must-see sights of Ollantaytambo, and choose from kayaking, hiking, or mountain biking against the Andes backdrop. There is so much to see and explore in The Sacred Valley, we suggest adding as much time here as you can, the rewards are rich.
Day 9-11: Machu Picchu & Cusco
Next up is a visit to one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, the iconic Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. After a day exploring the impressive site, take the train to Cusco and wander the ancient streets, modern markets and thriving food scene.
Day 12-13: Quito
Part two of your journey takes you to Ecuador, starting with the charming capital Quito. Take a walking tour of the UNESCO-listed colonial centre, with optional cultural activities ranging from chocolate tasting to artist visits.
You can easily explore the area from your boutique hotel, on the city’s most charming pedestrianised colonial street. Let us know if you would like some restaurant recommendations, as the gastronomy scene in Quito continues to thrive.
Day 14-15: Cloud Forest
Just two hours from Quito is the birdwatchers’ paradise of Mindo, a rich cloud forest with an incredible diversity of flora and fauna.
From El Monte Lodge you can try ziplining, canopy walks, river tubing, and of course nature walks amongst the lush forest.
You should see an incredible array of bird-life here, bring some good binoculars.
Day 16-17: Otavalo or Cotopaxi
Up into the Andes again, choose between the indigenous region of Otavalo for craft markets and traditional weavers, or Cotopaxi for its snow-capped volcano.
Both areas offer stunning trekking opportunities, past waterfalls and crater lakes, horse-riding and mountain biking under the gaze of volcanoes.
Day 18-21: Galapagos Islands
We end this magical adventure in the wildlife wonderland of the Galapagos Islands. Choose a small-ship cruise (8–10 cabins), an island-hopping adventure, or simply settle into a hotel and enjoy easy day trips.

Day 22: Depart
Wave goodbye to the Galapagos, as you fly to the mainland to meet your onward flight home.

When to Go
Best time for a Peru, Ecuador and Galapagos holiday
The best months for this trip are May to September, the dry season in both the Peruvian and Ecuadorian Andes, with clear views over Machu Picchu and Cotopaxi. April, October and November are good shoulder months with fewer visitors. December to March brings more rain to the Andes and the Peruvian Amazon, though the Galapagos is at its warmest, with calmer seas for snorkelling. Ask us which month suits your plans.
