Day 1-2: Kathmandu, Nepal

Arrive in Kathmandu and settle into a well-located hotel for two nights—an ideal base for your Luxury Rajasthan, Bhutan & Nepal Tour | Himalayas to India Adventure. With your private local guide, dive straight into the city’s living history on a half-day tour of Durbar Square, Indra Chowk and Ason Tole, where temples, traders and incense-scented lanes create an unforgettable first impression.

This evening, sample Nepalese flavours at a hand-picked restaurant. The following day, explore sacred Pashupatinath and the vast stupa of Boudhanath, two essential cultural highlights. Day 3-5: Pokhara, Nepal

Travel to Pokhara by private vehicle (a wonderfully scenic drive of around 8 hours) or by a short flight. Framed by the Annapurna range, Pokhara feels a world away from Kathmandu—calmer, greener and perfectly placed for Himalayan adventures. You’ll spend three nights at one of our favourite hilltop lodges, chosen for its sweeping valley views, warm service and excellent cuisine.

Your days are tailored to your pace: gentle lakeside walks or more challenging hikes on nearby trails, with plenty of time for a boat ride across Lake Phewa, colourful markets, small museums and standout local restaurants. Enjoy your Himalaya adventure holiday.

Day 6: Kathmandu, Nepal

Return to Kathmandu by private transfer or a short domestic flight. Spend your final night in a comfortable hotel close to the airport, perfectly positioned for your onward journey to Paro, to combine your Nepal and Bhutan tour.

Day 7-8: Thimphu, Bhutan

Next on your Luxury Rajasthan Bhutan and Nepal Tour is the Land of the Thunder Dragon. Fly from Kathmandu to Paro and meet your private guide and driver. As you begin your Bhutan journey, the pace shifts: crisp mountain air, prayer flags and forested valleys set the tone for this remarkable kingdom.

Drive to Thimphu (around one hour) and visit the National Memorial Chorten and the striking Buddha Dordenma statue. Then lace up your walking boots for an easy hike to Changangkha Lhakhang, a beautiful hillside temple with sweeping views. Day 9-10: Punakha, Bhutan

Travel to the Punakha Valley (around two hours), where the landscape softens into rivers, rice terraces and subtropical greenery. En route, pause at Dochula Pass for panoramic Himalayan views and a photo stop among the 108 chortens. You’ll spend two nights in a peaceful, comfortable hotel in the heart of the valley.

Visit Chimi Lhakhang, explore the magnificent Punakha Dzong and cross the Punakha suspension bridge. If conditions are right, join an expert team for a gentle rafting experience on the Punakha River. A scenic hike to Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten rewards you with fresh mountain air and far-reaching valley views.

Day 11-12: Gangtey, Bhutan

Depart Punakha for Gangtey (Phobjikha Valley) on a beautiful drive through Himalayan scenery. The Gangtey Valley is renowned for its walking trails, wide-open vistas and tranquil atmosphere. Spend your first afternoon unwinding with gentle strolls to local viewpoints, then join evening prayers at the Shedra for a uniquely memorable experience.

Visit Gangtey Goemba, then follow the Gangtey Nature Trail for classic valley scenes. Stop at the Black-necked Crane Centre to learn about conservation efforts and, in season, observe these remarkable birds up close.

Day 13-14: Paro, Bhutan

A longer drive (around six hours) brings you back to Paro for your final two nights in Bhutan—an evocative finale to your Himalayas journey before India and Rajasthan await.

Visit Ta Dzong (the National Museum) and call in at a local farmhouse to learn more about Bhutanese life and hospitality.

And then, the icon: Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktsang). With your guide, hike the classic route (around four hours return) to the cliffside sanctuary, pausing at viewpoints for extraordinary photographs. The moment you reach the monastery is pure travel magic—spiritual, dramatic and unforgettable.

Day 15-16: Delhi, India

Farewell Bhutan—known as the Land of the Thunder Dragon—and fly to Delhi to begin the Rajasthan chapter of your journey. On arrival, meet your private guide and driver and transfer to your hotel to relax and reset.

The next day, visit Jama Masjid before exploring Old Delhi by foot and rickshaw—an exhilarating weave through spice-scented lanes, historic havelis and traditional workshops where centuries-old crafts continue to thrive.

Balance the bustle with the grandeur of Lutyens’ Delhi, including views of Rashtrapati Bhavan (the President’s House) and the historic Parliament buildings. Visit Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, a captivating Sikh temple, then end at Humayun’s Tomb—one of the finest Mughal monuments in India.

Day 17-18: Agra – Chambal, India

Early this morning, transfer to the station for your train to Agra and a visit to the Taj Mahal (closed on Fridays). Often described as a ‘tear on the face of eternity’, this exquisite marble masterpiece is an enduring monument to love—and a true once-in-a-lifetime moment.

Continue by road to Chambal, where you’ll spend two nights at a characterful rural safari lodge. With your expert naturalist, take a boat safari along the Chambal River for the chance to spot gharial crocodiles, turtles and an array of resident and migratory birdlife—plus, with luck, the rare Gangetic river dolphin.

Enjoy a cultural visit to Holipura village and the nearby Bateshwar temples—wonderful places to slow down and connect with a quieter side of rural India.

Day 19-20: Ramathra, India

Transfer to Ramathra on a scenic drive of around five hours, heading deep into rural Rajasthan. For the next two nights, stay in an atmospheric fort-hotel with expansive countryside and lake views, exceptional home-style Rajasthani cooking and genuinely warm hospitality.

Choose from a menu of privately guided experiences: a boat trip across the lake for rich birdlife, a jeep safari to explore forts, caves and wildlife, or a walking tour of Ramathra village through a hamlet of farmers and herders. Day 21-22: Ranthambore, India

Head out on early-morning and afternoon open-top jeep safaris in search of the elusive tiger, along with sloth bear and a wealth of birdlife. Between drives, relax to the sounds of the jungle and enjoy delicious North Indian cuisine back at your lodge.

Day 23-24: Jaipur, India

Swap wilderness for the ‘Pink City’ as you drive around three hours to Jaipur, Rajasthan’s vibrant capital. Named for the rose-hued buildings of the old walled city, Jaipur is a feast of history and design—grand forts, ornate palaces and lively bazaars that bring the era of the maharajas to life.

Visit Amber Fort and step into the shimmering Sheesh Mahal (Palace of Mirrors). Continue to the City Palace and Jantar Mantar observatory, and drive past the iconic Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) for a classic Jaipur photograph.

Finish the day with a guided walk through Old Jaipur: artisan lanes, spice stalls and bustling bazaars—then, if you wish, sample some of the city’s best street food with your guide choosing the tastiest stops.

Day 25-26: Jodhpur, India

Travel around five hours to Jodhpur, the dramatic ‘Blue City’ on the edge of the Thar Desert. We’ve selected a beautiful, world-class hotel in the heart of the city as part of this luxury India holiday. With your guide, explore mighty Mehrangarh Fort—one of India’s largest and most impressive, renowned for its grandeur and museum collections.

Nearby, visit Jaswant Thada, the 19th-century royal cenotaph carved from white marble, with intricate detailing and portraits of Jodhpur’s rulers.

Then take a guided walk through Jodhpur’s blue-washed lanes—meandering alleyways, lively bazaars and hidden courtyards—discovering the city’s stories at a relaxed, unhurried pace.

Day 27-28: Jawai, India

One of our favourite Rajasthan highlights: travel around three hours into the granite wilderness of Jawai, passing Rabari villages and herders along the way. This region blends dramatic landscapes with a wonderfully slow rhythm of life.

Jawai is famed for leopard sightings—often seen on jeep safaris and, at times, moving freely among the rocky outcrops.

Day 29-30: Udaipur, India

This morning, drive around an hour to the exquisite Jain temples of Ranakpur—among the most important Jain sites in India. Dating from the 15th century and beautifully preserved, the intricately carved pillars and soaring halls are a true architectural marvel.

Continue to Udaipur and check into your elegant hotel. Then head out with your guide to discover the city: the City Palace, Saheliyon-ki-Bari gardens and Jagdish Temple.

Towering above Lake Pichola, the City Palace is the largest palace complex in Rajasthan, a layered masterpiece of courtyards, balconies and painted halls. Then wander Saheliyon-ki-Bari, famed for its lawns, lotus pools, marble pavilions and elephant-shaped fountains.

Day 31: Depart
