Top Rajasthan Experiences

Tracking Leopards in Jawai
Our favourite wildlife experience in India! The crumbling remnants of the Aravali Mountains create one of the most mesmerizing landscapes to track the Indian leopard. Living in harmony with the red-turbaned Rabari shepherds, these big cats are one of India’s most unique and successful conservation stories and represent a true benchmark in human/wildlife cohabitation. We can include a stay in a luxury safari camp for a truly memorable holiday.

Stay in an Ancestral Homestay
Rajasthan is home to an abundance of grand properties, occupied by families for generations. Some of the very best of these open their doors to visitors to experience the true grandeur of the Mughal Empire and beyond. From dinner atop the ramparts of a rural fort, to rowing out on lakes before a sundowner with your hosts, on our Rajasthan holidays you will experience aspects of local life rarely seen by other visitors. Thinking of including Bhutan with Rajasthan? Its all possible, speak to our Bhutan experts to find out how.

Experience a local festival
Rajasthan is home to all manner of festivals. The fireworks of Diwali and colours of Holi are renowned throughout the world, but just as important to local communities can be the smaller celebrations. The gathering of Sufi’s for music at the tomb of Nizamuddin in Delhi, a local village harvest fete in Jodhpur, or even a birthday party for a village elder in Rohet. A truly authentic experience on your Rajasthan holiday.

Rajasthan private tours: Frequently Asked Questions
Please reach us at info@traveldifferently.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.
How many days are enough for a Rajasthan trip?
We suggest a minimum of 10 days in Rajasthan, as this will cover the classic Golden Triangle route. However we prefer to suggest 14 days plus to include beautiful rural countryside, some time to stay in a Fort and enjoy a leopard spotting safari, or 2-3 nights in Ranthambore in search of Tigers. To really ‘do’ Rajasthan properly and away from crowds, including lesser-known areas like Bikaner and Jaisalmer, we suggest nearer three weeks.
Which month is best to visit Rajasthan?
October to March are the best months to visit Rajasthan in North India. The weather will be sunny, especially towards March time, but a pleasant manageable heat. At night you will likely need a jacket as temperatures can drop in December – January, but the weather will offer perfect conditions to travel around Rajasthan.
Which part of Rajasthan is most beautiful?
All of Rajasthan is absolutely stunning and full of variety, but if you like history and cities steeped in colour Jaipur and Jodhpur are beautiful. Getting out into the countryside will show you the real India and you can expect incredibly beautiful scenery and awe-inspiring landscapes in places like Ramathra, Nimaaj and Jawai.
How do I get to Rajasthan from the UK?
You can fly directly into Delhi from London Heathrow, the flight lasts around 8 hours. British Airways operate this route and offer Economy, Premium Economy and Business Class options. Read more about entry requirements into India here.
