Day 1-2: Buenos Aires

Our Patagonia active adventure starts in vibrant Buenos Aires, a destination in itself. Relax after your flight before meeting your local guide and exploring highlights of the city on bikes. Amble around Recoleta, pedal through stylish Palermo Chico and discover diverse neighbourhoods. Indulge in some delicious steak and red wine at one of the cities many sumptuous restaurants.

Day 3-4: San Martin de Los Andes

Say goodbye to the city and catch a short flight to the wonderful Lake district of Argentina. This is a dream destination for those who love active, outdoor pursuits on holiday. San Martin de Los Andes is set on the shores of Lake Lacar, hugged by the beautiful Lanin National Park. This is a hikers paradise; choose from several walking routes, passing glistening lakes, ancient forests and reach the Lanin Volcano. It is here you will collect your rental car, ready for your self-drive adventure.

Day 5-6: Bariloche

Your self-drive Patagonia adventure really kicks in as you drive the stunning Route of the Seven Lakes to the alpine town of Bariloche. The wonderful freedom of a self-drive means you can stop en route to enjoy short hikes and soak up the scenery at your own pace. Have a good camera with you to capture the sweeping panorama of Nahuel Huapi National Park. Next, swap the car for a kayak and enjoy a half day tour across Lago Gutierrez where you will be surrounded by rich forest and mountains which highlight the sheer scale of Patagonia. Drop off your hire-car.

Day 7-9: Puerto Varas

The next stop on your Patagonia active adventure requires crossing into Chile, sailing through vivid turquoise waters and ice-capped volcanoes on the famous Andean Lake Crossing. Puerto Varra is known as the gateway to the Chilean Lake District. From here, journey to the Petrohue Falls, ascending Osorno Volcano on a half-day excursion which offers some incredible views.

Day 10-13: Torres del Paine

Torres del Paine is famous world over for its iconic hikes and starkly beautiful views. As you journey deeper into Patagonia you reach the park, making it home for the next 5 days. Take on the iconic highlights of the W trek, hiking into the French Valley, sailing to the Grey Glacier witnessing the famous ice formations and granite spire towers. You will have an adventure of a lifetime during your time here, covering around 38 miles with your expert trekking guide, experiencing the very best of Patagonia.

Day 14-15: Puerto Natales

Today on your Patagonia active adventure, embark on a full-day boat trip journeying through stunning hidden fjords, finishing at the awe-inspiring Serrano and Balmaceda Glaciers. A thrilling day spent out of the turquoise waters of Patagonia.

Day 16-18: El Calafate

Making this Patagonia adventure more affordable and environmentally conscious, take a reliable public bus to cross the border into Argentina, heading to El Calafate. This is the gateway to Southern Patagonia and the iconic Perito Moreno Glacier. Spend an exhilarating three days enjoying excursions to remote and harder to reach glaciers, ending at Perito Moreno. To mix in some really interesting cultural activities, include a half-day excursion to learn about the Tehueleche people, tracing their stories of encounters with early explorers.

Day 19-20: Buenos Aires

Leaving the spectacular ice-capped region of Patagonia, you now head back to Buenos Aires for a final night of holiday. Perhaps enjoy a Tango show, explore some local markets and be sure to have one last delicious steak and malbec dinner.
