Day 1-2: Buenos Aires

Begin your holiday in one of our favourite cities in South America, vibrant Buenos Aires. Relax after your flight in a boutique hotel, well located to stroll to places of interest.

Take a guided cycling tour through magnetic Recoleta and leafy Palermo, where you guide will point out hidden gems and offer fascinating insights. Enjoy an iconic Tango show with dinner and delicious wine to capture the perfect Argentine experience.

Day 3-6: El Chalten

Today your Argentina and Antarctica Adventure really begins as you take a flight to El Calafate and transfer by bus to the small village of El Chalten in Los Glaciares National Park. We have included a local bus to keep this holiday as cost effective and sustainably minded as possible- the bus network in Argentina is known to be comfortable and efficient.

Your hotel offers the perfect base to head out on some stunning walking trails which will suit all fitness abilities. Well-marked routes are easy to navigate independently, or we can include an expert hiking guide to show you some of our favourites, such as the Laguna Torre hike to witness the Cerro Torre and the epic Laguna de Los Tres trail, with views of Mount Fitz Roy.

Day 7-9: El Calafate

Head to the gateway of the Perito Moreno Glacier, El Calafate. This will be a real holiday highlight as you explore and witness this natural wonder up close, following the panoramic walkways and sailing Rio Lake.

The nearer you approach the more you will see huge chunks of ice calve through the clear waters. There are some fantastic optional activities to include here such as kayaking among the icebergs and glacier hikes with an expert guide.

Day 10: Ushuaia

As your journey takes you further south towards the White Continent, take a flight to Ushuaia.

Spend the day exploring the beautiful Tierra del Fuego National Park with its stunning vistas and easy going walks. Take a boat trip out onto the Beagle Channel, or simply relax in your hotel soaking up the views.

Day 11-13: Drakes Passage

Board your small expedition vessel and you are ready to set sail for Antarctica! The next three days are spent sailing through the historic Drake Passage where you will catch your first wildlife sightings.

Look out for whales, petrels and exploring albatrosses. The Polar experts on board will invite you to join fascinating talks on the wildlife, ice patters and seas of this awe-inspiring region. Day 14: South Shetland Islands

You will have your first sighting of Antarctica and the untouched South Shetland Islands today, as you creep further into icy wilderness.

The captain will decide on exact landings, depending on day-to-day weather and visibility conditions.

Head ashore to walk on the ice, spot lounging seals, see amazing penguin colonies and get eye level with icebergs while cruising on zodiac boats.

Day 15-17: Antarctic Peninsula

Sail into the heart of the Antarctic Peninsula, getting deeper into stark and beautiful icy landscapes. Daily zodiac landing are thrilling, each one is unique and shaped by the wildlife and ice conditions of the day.

Witness Adélie penguins, an incredible variety of seabirds in their natural habitat and majestic whales. Your ship will navigate through narrow straits, past breathtaking sights and beautiful bays.

You will experience the privileged silence and peace of one of the most remote places on Earth. The Polar team on board will talk you through the range of activities offered and there may even be the opportunity to camp under polar skies!

Day 18-19: Drakes Passage

Bid farewell to the White Continent as your sail back towards Ushuaia, once again crossing the Drake Passage.

Spend a final night with your fellow explorers on board, sharing stores and memories from your epic voyage, over a delicious goodbye dinner.

Day 20-21: Buenos Aires

Your Argentina and Antarctica Adventure comes to an end as you fly back to Buenos Aires.

We have included one final night and day to explore this wonderful city, try out some incredible restaurants and relax before you flight home.
