1. The flavours of Bolivia

An exciting culinary scene is emerging in Bolivia

2025 is set to be a big year for Bolivia, celebrating its Bicentennial (the beginning of independence). A number of events and celebrations are due to take place across the country to mark this historic anniversary. La Paz, Bolivia’s capital is fast becoming a foodie hot spot, and furthermore somewhere we are recommending our guests to spend longer in. This year sees more restaurants opening and growing worldwide recognition for the culinary scene. We have a number of really interesting foodie tours here for guests to enjoy. From sampling delicious local dishes, trying some home made delights, to enjoying local snacks on a trekking day. Be sure to include a visit to GUSTU, one of Bolivia’s top eateries. This world class restaurant offers a culinary journey of Bolivia, through locally sourced ingredients with an 8 course tasting menu. Surely not to be missed.

Finally, be sure to include a visit to San Jose de Chiquitos, a UNESCO World heritage site. Here guests are welcomed by a local family and guided through a traditional Bolivian meal. Specifically learning flavours and traditional techniques, sharing ancestral knowledge and heritage. A superb way to learn more about a country, while still enjoying delicious food. Combine a culinary experience in Bolivia with trekking days and sightseeing. Speak to our experts about your Bolivia holiday wish-list.

2. Galapagos Roots

On Floreana, once the home of pirates and outcasts, guests will be hosted by a friendly local family in their waterfront lodge under a blanket of stars. Far from the cruise ship crowds, this feels like your own private Galapagos paradise. Overall a unique and affordable way to experience this must-visit destination

3. Find the real Paddington Bear….in Ecuador

While Paddington Bear is obviously known to have lived in Peru, its actually in Ecuador where you will find the Maquipucuna Reserve which is home to the largest number of Andean (spectacled) bears. The reserve has a huge conservation project underway to protect Andean bears, along with a multitude of other species. Covering more than 14,000 acres this huge reserve is one of the top 5 biodiversity hot spots in the world. Hence its well worth including in your tailor-made nature holiday to Ecuador and The Galapagos. Located just 2 hours from the capital Quito, the reserve has a huge variety of outdoor adventures to enjoy. Choose from 40km of walking trails through rich forest or try a guided night walk to discover rare wildlife that only come out at night. Why not take a dip in one of the many waterfalls, look out for more than 400 bird species, all while trying to spot the Andean Bear. With locally sourced coffee and delicious Ecuadorian food on offer here, this is undoubtedly a great way to get off the beaten track. You can add on day to Maquipucuna year-round for a really unique and different way to explore the wildlife of Ecuador.

4. Archaeological treasures of Peru

Peru is one of our all-time favourite destinations due in part to the sheer amount of history and archaeology you can discover. There is no better place to learn about the Inca civilization than Peru, therefore most of our guests want to include Inca highlights. Different trek routes, citidels and of course mighty Machu Picchu. However the Incas are just one chapter in the story that goes back more than 5,000 years. We’re now offering guests the chance to dig deeper into the history and cultures of Peru. Peru is a treasure trove for lovers of archaeology. For example learn more about The Moche on the northern coast (1- XVIII centuries AD) and the Paracas and Nasca on the southern coast. They developed sophisticated irrigation methods that transformed some of the harshest deserts into fertile land, allowing for human settlement.

A two day unique archaeological adventure

Why not include a two day journey from Lima to Caral (the oldest city in the Americas). Caral is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and offers a unique glimpse into the dawn of civilization in the Americas.

The adventure begins with a beautiful drive to the Supe Valley to explore Caral’s ancient temples and plazas. Unwind at a lovely boutique lodge, surrounded by lush avocado orchards and fruit groves. A restful night under the stars is the perfect end to this unique cultural experience. Learn the rich history and roots of Andean culture, ready for the upcoming Inca sites you will go on to visit.

5. Eco luxury in the Atacama Desert, Chile

Our clients are starting to ask us, what’s new and exciting for 2025 travel? One of our favourite luxury eco hotels, Tierra Atacama Chile, is set to reopen in the coming months. The much anticipated renovation brings eight new suites and an enhanced private experience for guests. However in our opinion what is more exciting, is the increased investment the hotel group has made in the sustainability strategy here. The hotel’s mission is to minimize its impact on the local environment, while still keeping its 5* service and experience. The project here includes renewable and solar energy, protecting natural resources and overseeing waste management. Furthermore on a socio-economic level Tierra has a commitment to fostering strong relationships with the local community. Likewise maintaining the archaeological elements of the region as a key sustainability measure. The Atacama desert is the driest desert in the world, and presents a huge challenge for luxury hotels who have a firm commitment to the environment. We look forward to seeing how Tierra has overcome these challenges and cant wait for our guests to arrive at the new-look lodge!
